Ayokong Pumasok Sa Paaralan

AUTHOR: Rene O. Villanueva
ILLUSTRATOR: Dindo Llana

I know! I know! I know that it is summer and this children's book that I'm about to discuss is not really appropriate for the season. I mean the next school year is still a month and a half away but still I think it is always best to be ready in preparing children to formal or non-formal schooling.

"I Don't Want To Go To School" is written by the very popular author Rene O. Vilanueva. It talks about a little boy bee on how he does not want to go to school but then his mother would always say that one day he will take back all that he said. It shows how things that the little boy bee does at home (playing, singing, drawing, and reading stories) can also be done in school.

It's a cute little book. Each page has illustrations alternating from color to black and white. It is quite colorful in a way that it seems a young elementary kid drew and colored the images.
Parents can use this book in further expalaining to their children the importance of school and that going there is not boring and scary. It is a place where a child can learn and enjoy at the same time. On the other hand, teachers can use this book to enlighten their pupils (especially those who have separation-anxiety syndrome a.k.a. crying kids because they are scared their parents are not there anymore! LOL!) that school is a fun place to learn lots of things plus they can make many friends too.

Overall, I highly recommend this book. As we all know that there will always be children who are intimidated in going to school. They might hear stories from their older siblings or friends about how much homework they have to finish, endless quizess or terror teachers. This is a perfect time to clarify such negative scenarios.

I do hope you guys can have a chance to read this woderful story and share it to your children or pupils!

     HAPPY READING!
